Burchfield Branch Park is located near Holt Lake on the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway northeast of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. With many amenities, access to the water and opportunities to view wildlife, Burchfield Branch provides a convenient camping spot for families, boaters, swimmers, picnickers and sightseers. Holt Lake was created by the damning of the Black Warrior River. The campground is situated along the forested shores of the river and displays scenic fall foliage each year. Deer, squirrel, wild turkey, migratory birds and blue birds live around the Holt Lake area.   Amenities & Activities The park features: campfire rings, creek access, a dock, drinking water, dump station, entrance station, fishing, fishing pier, flush toilets, general store, grills, picnic shelters, picnic tables, pit toilets, a playground and showers.   Attractions You can also expect nearby attractions such as Holt Lake, Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway and the Black Warrror River.   Fishing is the most popular activity on the waterway. Whether fishing by boat or along the shore of the park, anglers can find bass, crappie, bream, catfish and more. What a gem! Clear Creek Recreation is one of those ‘Best kept secret campgrounds.’  Beautiful, all paved or gravel sites and every site is spacious with plenty of trees for shade. Each is embedded in trees so when you sit outside, you see acres of breathtaking nature scenes, and maybe even a wandering deer pass by. For your camper, RV or big rig, they have pull-thru access with electrical and water hook-ups. Nearby are restrooms and showers, and if you have a tent to pitch, there’s lots of room for you to spread out. They also provide fire ring and picnic table, and for fun activities, the sight offers a basketball and volleyball court, playground and horseshoe pit. And for fishing on the creek, they have a private boat ramp and the bass are almost hopping in the boat. For the walkers and hikers, there are plenty of trails to chart, and the lake to splash in, to cool off on those hot summer days. Not far is the Bankhead National Forest is the Sipsey Wilderness, known as "The Land of a Thousand Waterfalls," and home to an abundance of streams, old-growth forests, limestone bluffs and lush canyons.   Did I say this was a gem?
