Their location is outstanding, positioned on County Road 742, down the road from the freshly paved Cottonwood Pass, which is just 18 minutes to Crested Butte and 18 minutes to Gunnison. Get ready to camp in rustic comfort at Campfire Ranch on the Taylor. All of their campsites are walk-in and tent-only, which means no RV's allowed. This saves you from sleeping beside noisy generators, idling vehicles, and slamming car doors each night. Each campsite is just a short walk from your vehicle, water, and bathroom, a backcountry feel without the hassle. The canyon is home to some of the most iconic views in the Central Rockies, abundant recreational pursuits, and outstanding access to nearby communities. The Gunnison Lakeside RV Park is located 12 miles west of Gunnison, Colorado, and draws large numbers of campers each year for its lush forestry and breathtaking mountain ranges. Campers can look forward to fishing for kokanee salmon at the Blue Mesa Reservoir, hiking and mountain biking. The campground is located near outdoor attractions such as Black Canyon, the Curecanti National Recreation Area and golf courses, as well as excellent local restaurants and sights.

Blue Mesa Ranch includes amenities such as WiFi, water, sewer, showers, laundry facilities. This pet friendly campground is located on 27601 West Highway 50 in Gunnison, CO. Swimming Indoors, basketball, shuffleboard, hiking, and swimming outdoors are some of the activities you can enjoy during your stay here.

The Arkansas River, just minutes to the east, offers some of the best whitewater in the country. Check out our friends at The Adventure Company (theadventurecompany.com) for all your river adventures. With the 4-mile Recreation Area just east of the Arkansas River and numerous other mountain-top routes to the west, we are a mountain biker's and off-roader's paradise. And in the winter time, Cottonwood Pass closes to automobiles and opens up to snowmobiles. To wind down, Cottonwood Hot Springs is just 5 minutes to the west, and Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort is 15 minutes to the south. Cottonwood Lake (no motors allowed), 15 minutes up the pass, has great fishing – though we’ve caught brown trout in the creek right here on the property. Numerous hiking trails - including the Continental Divide Trail and the Colorado Trail - can be accessed just minutes away up Cottonwood Pass, and there are trailheads for thirteen Fourteeners within a 45-minute drive (Mt. Princeton's 14,197' summit is under 4 hours from your campsite...if you hustle). In the winter, there are endless opportunities for backcountry skiing and snowshoeing. If you're into backcountry skiing or splitboarding, or want to try it out for the first time, get in touch with Buena Vista Mountain Adventures (bvmountainadventures.com). Upon your return to civilization, check out the bars, restaurants, and shops on Main Street or South Main in Buena Vista, or catch a showing at the Comanche Drive-In Theater just a few hundred yards up the road. We think the best food in the valley is 50 Burger down in Salida, but if you’re looking to stay a little closer, we think Buena Vista’s best meal can be found at Wesley & Rose at the Surf Hotel. And for a night out, the Deerhammer Distillery on Main Street and Eddyline Brewery across from the library are super cool spots.

Nestled in Cimarron, Colorado, Pleasant Valley Cabins & Campground features RV and tent sites situated along the north bank of the beautiful Little Cimarron River and shaded by cottonwood trees and aspens. All of the sites are spacious and have their own fire pit and picnic table. There are small portable bar-b-ques available to borrow, and some built in bar-b-ques among the sites. Sites are level gravel with grass surroundings and are back in only with 30 amp electrical service. One can also enjoy activities such as hunting, wildlife viewing, and horseback riding during your stay.
