Many of North Carolina’s best RV parks are situated on or near the 300 miles of beach coastline. This is a well-known part of the country for fishing, and you can expect to have lots of fresh seafood options no matter where you go along the Carolina coast. The angler in your party will definitely want to hop on a charter boat and do some fishing in the Outer Banks, while the golfer in the group will want to hit the links at one of North Carolina’s best golf courses. Get outdoors at Croatan National Forest or nearby Hofmann Forest. The hunter in the pack can make good use of the many designated Game Lands that dot the coastal plains region of North Carolina. History buffs visiting coastal North Carolina in their RV or motorhome will want to check out the Battleship North Carolina, in Wilmington, NC.

The Research Triangle in the center of North Carolina is a quickly growing tech hub, with a vibrant economy following along with it. Some of the best Universities in North Carolina are located in or around the Raleigh, Durham, Wake Forest, and Chapel Hill communities. This area is also home to some pretty fantastic outdoor opportunities. Head up to Falls Lake and the Falls Lake State Recreation Area, where you can hike, bike or paddle these trails that stretch for miles. The Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is a popular summertime destination because it has a beach. Visitors are also welcome to make camp, go fishing, hiking, and birding in this popular spot for large raptor sightings. Further west, on your way to Charlotte is the Uwharrie National Forest, where travelers are encouraged to seek their own adventure across the park’s more than 50,000 acres of dense woodlands.

One of America’s most popular RV destinations is Asheville, North Carolina. And that makes a lot of very good sense when you take measure of everything this part of the state has to offer. The sand hill forests of the central Carolinas gradually give way to the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Pisgah National Forest is dense with foliage and features fantastic mountain hiking and mountain biking, as well as several waterfalls. Dupont State Forest is one of the favorite natural destinations among Carolinians. Near the border with South Carolina, this land has some of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the entire country. Make your way into the Smoky Mountains and you’ll arrive in Asheville, and nearby resort towns like Cherokee, Maggie Valley, and Black Mountain. Be sure to make time to explore nearby gems like Nantahala National Forest, Cherokee National Forest, and of course, Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
