Horrible unattended campground, there is no marina, no playground, no office, drying up nasty so called lake, nasty tall weeds all around for snakes to hide in and there were black widow spiders in the water box. It’s really a health hazard.

Campground Response

Eve: I am sorry to see your recent review! Our park is a family-owned small park. Because of it's size we cannot afford employees so all maintenance and upkeep we do ourselves. Thus, all reservations are handled on line. Phone numbers are posted so you can talk to someone if you have questions or problems. Sorry, you saw spiders but it is in the country. Our marina is only partially floating at this time due to lake levels. Lake Brownwood is a great lake for fishing and water sports! But, we just need rain! Please pray for rain!. Please come back again and give us another try!

LOVELY location and ease of access. QUIET and clean. PRICING is good. only complaint is that there is nobody onsite for check-in to oversee process, and it does state self check-in so I shouldn't complain. FREE WIFI is featured (or I should say wifi is included in pricing?) but how does one know the password for wifi if there is nobody to ask, nor will they answer phone call?

Campground Response

Thank you for your comments! Our WIFI password is given out on the reservation information you receive in confirmation. You can also call the telephone number you on our main sign and we will give you the password.

I would rate zero if available. False advertising. There is no pool. No playground. Nothing. Lots of junk around. Campers way older than 10 years. No services. No amenities. We left after one night and went elsewhere. Requested refund for the 2 nights we went somewhere else. Still waiting for that.

Campground Response

Lori: I am sorry to see your review that our park was not what you expected! We are a small family-owned park and we have now been in business for about three years. We have a small operating budget due to our size, but we are constantly trying to improve our park with upgrades. It will take time, but we will eventually get there. Our web site accurately describes our park, amenities, and activities and policies. I hope you will be more generous with your reviews of other parks you visit in the future! We all depend on them for future business!

Driveway splits as you enter. DO NOT GO LEFT ...DEAD ENDS AT PRIVATE DRIVEWAY! We pulled in at our $5 extra to reserve this specific site only to find the absent neighbor had hooked up to his and our septic. I'm not touching his line! Had to call (since no host/owner on site) to get our site switched. A hassle. These are pretty much just dirt and in no way level sites with hook ups. Most sites are permanently occupied by people who like to display their junk lying around. Close to lake but blocked by residences. We will NOT stop here again! Oh...over-priced for what it is. Good wifi.

Campground Response

Gladys: Thank you for your feedback! We are constantly trying to improve our facility. We are a small family-owned business with no employees. Having another camper hook up to two septic outlets is not acceptable and we will be more vigilant at watching for that. All of our sites and roads are now road base gravel. We have also added new park directional signs so people will not go down the wrong road when they miss our turn around street. Please pray for rain! Free fishing and boat slips for RV park residents!

Campground: Didn't have picnic table at camp sites. The tables were stacked up and chained together near the office. The office was never opened, and no employees were around to ask questions the entire four days we were there. How are things checked? Ramp and Dock: The boat launch was closed. I couldn't unload my boat, this was due to the lake water level being low. However, it would have been nice to know that prior to being charged for a boat slip. I had to go to the other side of the lake to launch. I do not recommend and will NEVER return. I don't understand how a business can rob people and get away with it. Honesty goes a long way, just tell us the launch is not useable. To do that you have to have employees at the location..

Campground Response

James; We are sorry you were disappointed in our small family owed Park. We are not large enough to have staff but our phone number is posted various places on our sign and web site. We will gladly answer any questions. Yes, we do not have picnic tables at every site but they have been purchased and will be painted and distributed soon. It is obvious our boat ramp is closed due to Texas drought conditions. We hope we receive rain soon! You could have asked about lake conditions for your boat. Our marina is operational and you could have used it if you wished. We are honestly doing our best to treat properly if you will just keep the communication open! Picnic tables have now been added to all sites!

Easy reservation process, clean campground, nice quiet , evenings. Lake is low so boat slips are out of the water but was still able to tie up and be close to the rv.

Too pricey! Originally said $35 a night and we wanted to stay 2 so I thought it was reasonable at first but when I checked out all the added on fees it ended up being over $108. And the only amenity they offer at that place is a dock you can fish off of. If you park you boat of course that’s another fee. Thought it’s ok it’s for my husband’s birthday weekend so we had the kids stay with grandparents 6miles away because they charge and extra $5 per person over 2 people. Not to mention the pet fee of $5 per dog per day. Paid an extra $5 for spot reservation since we had never stayed there before yet that got switched on us and I had to call the place to get a refund. They said it was due to someone that had extended their stay…totally understandable…and so he offered to refund my money then proceeded to say but I put you in a more expensive spot, so I in turn said yes but I requested the other spot and paid $5 for it so if I’m not getting that spot then I should be refunded like you offered. He agreed but I shouldn’t have had to argue to get my money back! Not professional. I will not use this place again, I was extremely disappointed and the worst part is that it was perfect location close by the grandparents new place, so we would have come often. I can’t stand a place that tags fees for every little thing! I didn’t feel like this is a family welcoming place since they charge for each additional person after 2, if your RV sleeps more than 2 be prepared to pay them more money. Not a family friendly welcoming environment.
