We decided to go 30 miles out of our way to see what Talkeetna was all about. It is a cool little village of 800 year round residents, many shops and restaurants, a train station and lots of recreational opportunities. The RV park is 1/2 mile from the village and a pleasant walk. Space is limited but accommodations are good and the price is reasonable for Alaska.
