Enjoy a classical aesthetic with this vintage boutique campground, The Hideaway Retreat, nestled on 371 ft on the Santa Rosa Sound in Navarre, Florida. This old Florida-style campground features white gravel roads, cascading mature oak and magnolia trees with an abundance of shade and naturally landscaped RV sites that create a comfortable and inviting space. The Hideaway Retreat offers 50 RV sites, 10 tent sites, a 1958 vintage Shasta Camper, and a 5 bed/ 3 bath waterfront cottage complete with incredible views and plenty of privacy. The Hideaway is where you go to get back to the basics, nature, and one another while interacting with your neighbor the old fashioned way, in person. Relax on their oversized deck, cast a line on their fishing pier, enjoy incredible sunsets from their Vista Seawall, or walk down to their private beach, "Hidden Beach," also called the "Pooch Beach," where furry family members are welcome to enjoy all 371 ft with you! Visitors are awestruck by the scenery with The Hideaway's shabby chic and cozy setting. Unlike many open parking lot style campgrounds, there’s nothing cookie cutter about this little Florida hidden gem with its vintage style layout. It's how camping used to be and how we feel should be. The Hideaway Retreat is located in Navarre Florida between the beautiful beaches of Destin and Pensacola. and is just a few minutes away from the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico beach. Navarre will remind you of "Old Destin”, it’s no wonder this area is referred to as "Florida's Most Relaxing Place.” Book your stay at The Hideaway Retreat today! 2022 CAMPSPOT AWARDS WINNER: Top Sites.

So many shade trees at your campsite. A beautiful private beach on the Sound. So welcoming, like home away from home. It is convenient to groceries and restaurants as well as the Navarre pier. The amenities include a common area surrounded by lights that twinkle in the trees at night, a fire pit and assorted games. Staff is incredibly friendly and very helpful, takes you to your site. We reserved a premium water view site and was not disappointed. Sites are level, surrounded with magnolia trees. Walk down the deck-steps to the beach, clear water, great for swimming, even with small children. Super dog friendly. We will be back! WE LOVE THE HIDEAWAY

We stayed here a year ago in June of 2021. It was our first RV experience, having rented one and drove from Texas. I am so glad we stayed at Hideaway Retreat! It was absolutely beautiful! The staff was very helpful when I had called to book my sight. I had many questions since it was my first time, and they were very patient with me! I was very grateful when we arrived to have a staff member help navigate me while I backed in to our spot. My three children (pre-teen/teens) enjoyed the location just as much as I did. They later saw another RV Park I had considered and expressed to me how glad they were we were at Hideaway. The trees and natural environment felt so calming and peaceful. Our spot was right by the bathhouse, but we still felt tucked away in our own little paradise. We could be alone when we wanted, but also enjoyed talking with others at the community area. The grounds were kept clean. Though all the spots seemed filled, it never felt crowded. The bathhouse was always clean. We absolutely loved the private beach area. Even after spending days at Pensacola Beach, some of our favorite memories are from our time spent at the beach area at Hideaway. Our dog was thrilled to be able to spend time there as well. I really appreciate that dogs are allowed to enjoy the beach area as well. The other dogs we encountered were all well behaved. We definitely plan on returning in the future. My children have told me more than once that they’d like to vacation there again, not just the Florida Beach, but specifically also to stay at Hideaway Retreat again. It’s nice to know we can do tent camping if we don’t have an RV. Thank you to the owners and staff who created a welcoming atmosphere and helped us have an incredible experience.

We arrived and were happy with our first two sites. (four star at that point) We were told we would have to relocate the 2nd day, and again on the 3rd day. We are diplomatic, low key folks who just want to get along and have a vacation. I guess that wasn't in the cards! We went to our final site, but it was a hot mess. Back by the dumpster, loose sand for our 46K pound RV to sink into, 40 foot of hose to try and reach the sewer. I tried to explain to the owner that if we sink into the sand here we will need to be towed out. She said no one has ever sunk their rig here and that she would pay for it to be towed out. I will update this review after we leave here. One of the staff people tried for over an hour to find us a more suitable site. They were going to come and let us know. We waited patiently until a very aggressive staff person named "Tina" arrived, and had a bitter argument with my husband, demanding that we leave the current site immediately. She was very impolite, not at all diplomatic and treated us disrespectfully. At that point, we were told, if the next site was not suitable we may be able to get a refund... which was refuted right away by the owner. It is disappointing when we are spending so much money to stay somewhere. The design of the sites and the road access is not made for the turns that you must take to get to the sites. Our rig is 40 foot and I do not think, whoever designed the curves understands geometry or the turning radius of an RV. The owner wanted to protect her trees and grass. I understand that, however she was yelling that as we were trying to move the rig. In fact my poor husband must have had THREE of the female staff people all basically telling him how to drive. (and my husband knows how to drive the rig, he has been doing this over 30 years) There was no mutual respect from the owner. Yes, this is a pretty campground. BUT pretty is, as pretty does. We won't be back. Micromanagement, lack of respect from owner and a staff member...shady sites with bad access to sewer etc... It is sad, as it had a lot of promise. My final rating will be determined if and when we are towed out of this site. We have stayed a LOT of places. Where we are now at site 49, is a sand pit next to a dumpster with a Prevo sinking into the sand. Do NOT go here. We are stressed the hell out now. Thanks for nothing.

Beautiful campground with amazing views, ideal location and nice amenities. The magnolia trees throughout the campground make it very picturesque and the sunsets are stunning. Very close to the causeway that takes you to Navarre Beach. Close to shopping, restaurants and activities in Destin.

My husband and I went on our first camping trip to the Hideaway. The rent for a tent spot was reasonable. Once we got there and started setting up the mosquitos and gnats were horrible. We bought citronella candles that have sticks for the ground and was told we couldn't use them-no open flames.?? We stayed five nights and was invaded the whole time.

We stumbled on this place after noticing every state park campground in the area was booked solid, and we didn't want to spend hundreds on RV 'resorts' - it was so inviting from the bay views, the saltwater breeze, and the beautiful trees making you forget where you are. The staff is very accommodating and this entire place has such a cozy feeling - the way camping should be! We will definitely be back!

Hello to all the happy campers out there. Want to be happier go to the hideaway camping retreat this is by far the nicest camp I have ever seen and I have been to a lot of campgrounds great trees very nice new gravel roads, the beach so peaceful. The campground is setup in away that your not on top of each other. Some of the sites have great view of the water very nice. Oh I forgot to mention the sites have full hookups. Although I was in a motor home one night while walking the dog I went in the bathhouse just to see them, they did not disappoint at all very well kept and very clean. This was a very good experience. This review would not be complete without me mentioning the staff Jeanie the owner is great she does her best to meet all your needs and she is so nice really makes you feel welcome. The rest of the staff is great too. I would recommend the hideaway to everyone for a very pleasant camping experience.

Hi! l'm Jeanie, the new VERY proud owner of this rare little gem, TheHideawayRetreat.com I wanted to write to introduce myself and share with you that I bought it just over 3.5 months ago when it was formally the Magnolia Beach Campground and am transforming it! We are polishing her up and turning her into the beautiful diamond she is. It's a-lot of work, I work day and night, but, I love every minute of it! I certainly couldn't do it without my loyal and hard working team. But, the best part of what I do is meeting our guests, really nice and kind people like yourselves and creating new friendships with them. I know a few prior longterm residential guests that lived on the property for years prior to me buying it were very upset to leave as we came in, cleaned it up, and made a lot of changes. And, change is hard for many people. We turned it from a long term residential campground to a tourists - transient (daily/ weekly) campground with some monthly sites during off season. And, as hard as it was for me and I know them, I try to focus on the positive and good in every situation, and I only wish them the best! I'm so passionate about the The Hideaway and creating something really special for our guests. I hope for you too to create beautiful memories with your loved ones and make new friends at our campground. I'm constantly hearing from our guests "how welcomed they feel, there is a good vibe here and they definitely feel the love at our camp"....which is the biggest compliment we could ever receive! We also hear a-lot about our beautiful mature Oak and Magnolia trees throughout the property and the loads of shade they offer our campers. I must say, I first fell in love with the trees and being the huge tree huger that I am, I refused to cut down a single tree in order to fit another site! I wanted to maintain the boutique feel of our campground with only 50 RV sites and 10 tent sites. I was also drawn to our incredible waterfront views, with 371 ft on the Sound, simply put, it's tranquil and breathtaking! It was important to me to maintain the natural beauty of the property and the cool vintage layout style of the sites, it's not a parking lot style campground, but one where the sites are placed sporadically throughout, offering more space between each site, like camping used to be. I hear from our seasoned campers just how hard that is to find anymore. Needless to say, we don't have a commercial feel with a lot of pavement but a very natural one with white gravel roads and sites offering an Old Florida style look and feel. Our trees muffle any noise too so it's very quiet and peaceful. We are constantly hearing from our happy guests who say just how much they appreciate this about our little camp. I want to personally thank you for your interest in our little piece of heaven. I'm humbled by the positive feedback we hear and the love we feel from our guests everyday. I hope to meet you soon and have you too become a part of our Hideaway Family. I think you'll love our friendly and welcoming nature. Your pets will love us too as we are the only local campground that allows your fur babies to run free on our private beach! After all, they're family too, right? So, I say we get back to basics, back to nature, living fully present in the moment, and interacting with one another the old fashioned way, in person. Happy Camping. : )

Hey Camping friends! What a great place to visit and stay. Very close to many different attractions in Navarre, Ft Walton and even Destin. The campground has new management and this spot has been totally renovated with upgrades to roads, paths, camping sites, a common area, bay side pier, and landscaping to name a few. And one of the best attractions is the old oaks and magnolia trees throughout the campground providing shade on each site. I stayed for several days last week and had a great experience. I reccomend this campground and rate it a 5 star. Jeannie the owner has done an outstanding job. Managment was very helpful and assisted in locating my site and parking properly. I will be back next month for sure. A great stay indeed! Emory Hubbard

I was very skeptical about booking multiple sites for Memorial Day weekend because of the pictures on the internet. Once I got here we learned that Magnolia Campground had a new owner and changes were being made. We had friends and family on 5 sites Memorial Day weekend and we all had a blast. I enjoyed it so much that I’m still here. It is quite, shady, breezy, and just an overall cozy campground. Jeanie, (owner) is very friendly and accommodating. She has already made changes of improvement and is constantly working to improve this gem.

Never received email of confirmation and no where on site does it say about cancellation policy. Had to cancel due to storm heading to La. Which I leave in flood zone close to coast and called to cancel and was told I could not get refund due to a 14 day policy which I can not find. Heard all kinds to good reviews due to new owner but make sure if you book there get email confirmation and ask about policy for cancellation.

Hideaway is a hidden treasure. This park is in the process of being revamped. This is the old Magnolia that was an old campground that had a great deal of long term rentals. The new management is making this a true campground. Nobody will live there! Beautiful oak trees for shade, nice beach and each site is being graveled with new sod. I think this is going to be Navarre’s new hidden treasure. We will definitely be back soon!

Magnolia Beach Campground is under new ownership and let me tell ya, this place is now 5 stars. The new owner has turned this place around in just a short period of time. This place was once a scary place on a beautiful piece of land and now it is the total package of a campground. Beautiful graveled roads and sites, amazing shady spots, and a pet friendly private beach. Staff is extremely friendly. There will be more and more upgrades coming in the next couple months is what the owner and staff explained. Including bath house and laundry room upgrade, fishing pier rebuild, kids activity area, kayak and paddle board rentals and more. This is the place to be. This is a true unique outdoor experience. She has even changed the name to reflect the changes to The Hide Away A Camping Retreat. Don't let the other negative reviews from the past fool you this place is BEAUTIFUL and unique.
